The NZi3 Industry Event
Wednesday 16 April, 6pm
The Industry Event consists of two parts: the dinner at 6pm at UCSA Upper Common Room and the Industry mixer at 7pm at the HIT Lab.
The purpose of the Industry event is to give students a forum to mingle and mix with Industry reps in a casual and informal setting. Join us in the UCSA Upper Common Room at 6pm for a stand-up dinner. There will be short talks from our three premium sponsors as well. After dinner, we will move across to the HIT Lab. The HIT Lab (Human Interface Technology New Zealand), is a multi-disciplinary research and development lab which develops and commercialises technology that improves human-computer interaction. They are leaders in the field of new, emerging technologies such as Augmented Reality, Next Generation Video Conferencing, Immersive Visualization and Perceptual User Interfaces.
The layout of the HIT Lab means that students will not all be congregated in one large hall, but can move from room to room talking with the various reps from industry and viewing any demos. For example, the HIT Lab has kindly agreed to display some of their own technology.
Everything has been designed to increase the interaction between students and industry. However, as with everything in this conference, the level of interaction depends on you. So, come and enjoy the evening talking, making contacts, and learning more about the various parts of the ICT world.
